In The Face of Displacement

This series is from a project conducted at Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camps in Niger state, Nigeria. The girls and women pictured here are among thousands of Nigerians displaced by armed insurgents. Some have lived in IDP camps and host communities for years as their communities are still unsafe to return to

They face the threat of increased Sexual and Gender-Based Violence and lack access to Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights information and services as they grapple with the new reality they now live in In the face of displacement, these girls and women are resilient, tenacious, and brave.

Communities and Climate.

The climate crisis has severely impacted many communities across Nigeria. The Nigerian Red Cross is assessing the situation in the most vulnerable communities and locally-led adaptation and solutions to tackle the challenges.

Rebuilding Stronger After The Floods.

The 2023 and 2024 floods in Nigeria was catastrophic and caused a lot of havoc to lives, properties and livelihoods. An intervention from the Red Cross and partners provided WASH, cash support, and rebuilt homes.

Diphtheria Outbreak In Nigeria

The diphtheria outbreak in Nigeria started in December 2022 and has since claimed hundreds of lives. 80 percent of these deaths are in Kano state, the epicenter of the outbreak. This series follows stories of affected persons and the Red Cross response to the epidemic
