About

I am a communication, media, and advocacy strategist driven to work toward a just and equitable world for all, focusing on marginalized and vulnerable groups. I use digital tools, storytelling, advocacy campaigning, grassroots movement building, media management, feminist approaches, and multisector collaboration to make an impact.
With extensive professional and volunteer experience in the development sector, I have worked and received training on Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), climate and economic justice, renewable energy, Humanitarian response, LGBTQI+ rights, civic engagement, political participation, grassroots movement building, HIV/AIDS, Universal Health Coverage, and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
I have a bachelor’s degree in geoinformatics/environmental science, a diploma in digital marketing, and various certifications in communications.
I am a Social Science in Humanitarian Action Platform (SSHAP) Fellow, a Minority Africa fellow, and a member of the Feminist Humanitarian Network (FHN), and Commonwealth Youth Gender Equality Network (CYGEN).
As a passion, I enjoy following and contributing to feminist and social justice conversations, movements, and networks. I am currently based in Nigeria and enjoy gardening, music, cooking and sharing recipes, and taking long walks.

Work Experience

Communications Assistant/ International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent (IFRC) Country Cluster Delegation of Benin, Ghana, Nigeria, and Togo. MAY 2023 – PRESENT
– Produced the office’s first operational insights, capacity statement, and West African women’s philanthropy brochure (Tiffany Circle West Africa) enhancing fundraising and advocacy. Developed the office’s first communications strategy and annual plan enhancing strategic action, stakeholder engagement, and measurable impact. Developed bilingual marketing and advocacy materials spanning newsletters, web articles, photo stories, videos, press releases, case studies, email blasts, and more to promote health, gender equality, inclusion, disaster response, and climate action.
– Monitor and summarize key humanitarian news weekly, track and analyze media coverage, and contribute to the IFRC global newswire publication, resulting in timely, accurate updates and improved strategic action. 
– Audit and maintain stakeholder contacts database, manage media relations, secure key placements, and organize high-profile events. Handled media inquiries during emergencies, ensuring prompt and accurate responses, and organized media and stakeholder events enhancing partnerships, media relations, and organizational visibility.

– Developed and implemented internal and external communications strategies leading to improved efficiency, coordination, and program visibility. 
– Managed and developed SEO-optimized web content for two organizational websites, coordinating an editorial team to achieve a 20% increase in web traffic
-Produced multimedia content including 4 podcast episodes, graphics, over 10 mobile videos, and photography, resulting in a 70% increase in reach and a 30% growth in social media following.
Communications and Advocacy Officer / International Center for Sexual Reproductive Rights (INCRESE). DECEMBER 2019 – NOVEMBER 2022
– Led the communication and advocacy unit of INCRESE, by developing and implementing the communications and advocacy strategy, policy, and frameworks, and performing public and media relations functions. This included managing media productions, website content, social media, press conferences, advocacy campaigns, newsletters, and media training.
– Developed research tools, conducted research, and produced reports, factsheets, and case studies shared with local, regional, and global partners to bolster Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights advocacy. This led to secured funding from the Global Fund for Women for an SRHR program for adolescent girls and young women in IDP camps.
– Successfully executed advocacy campaigns, notably contributing to the domestication of the VAPP Act in Niger State, Nigeria, effecting significant policy change.
– Led the production and management of diverse digital content, including graphics, photo journals, documentaries, mobile videos, radio shows, and jingles. Implemented effective SEO strategies across social media, blogs, and websites, achieving a 40% surge in web traffic and a 50% growth in social media following.
